Saying what is happening between Mudir and Mufty does not concern Salafis is like saying what is happening between Iran and the US does not concern us as Muslims even with the deviant Shi’a ideology. Clear evidence has shown that the US-Iran war is of great concern not only to the Muslims (the neighboring Muslim countries were attacked) but to the entire world. In Nigeria, particularly, the war has made the effect of removal of subsidy worse for us.
The way the pro-mudir and the pro-mufty on one hand and pro-markaz and pro-adabiyyah on another hand are engaging in social media war that should be of great concern to any reasonable Muslim. Look at how they are using AI to mock their leaders and you think we should sit down and keep watching because they do not belong to our sect? “Orin nii saaju ote”. If the situation is not brought under control on time, only Allāh knows what it can lead to in the near future because the situation is just getting worse day by day. If the situation degenerates, will it not affect the peaceful atmosphere that we all need for da’wah? The boko haram group was underrated by the Muslim community in Borno State and it landed the entire country in trouble. This is how the evil of Jabatiyyah is being treated with kidgloves in Ilorin and Kwara State. I fear! Relevant security agencies need to act fast on the social media wars and bring them under control before it is too late.
It must be noted that the da’wah of Sunnah is not just for those who ascribe to the Sunnah or Salafiyyah, it is for all Muslims and even non-Muslims. The da’wah of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is universal. He is sent to the entire world to bring them from darkness to light. Allāh said:
Alif, Lam, Ra. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that you might bring mankind out of darknesses into the light by permission of their Lord – to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy – (QS. Ibrahim: Verse 1)
There is a clear order from Allāh that we should mediate between Muslims. We can play our own part too and even use the opportunity to draw non-Sunnis to the Sunnah while not compromising the Sunnah. If it doesn’t yield, we will be rewarded for making the efforts. We should even be optimistic that it will yield in Sha Allāh. Allāh says:
The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.
(QS. Al-Hujuraat: Verse 10)
Is there any part of the Qur’ān or Sunnah exempting other Muslims from the application of the above verse? I want to learn please. If you say the crisis between the duo does not concern us, does it now mean that they are no more Muslims? Who declared them to be disbelievers and with what yardstick? Even when we notice that a Muslim has uttered a kufr or many kufr statements, there are still some procedures that must be followed before he can be declared a disbeliever. It is not something to be done just by an individual. Even the scholars with deep knowledge do run away from this kind of takfeer.
So, we need to be very careful.
May Allāh guide us aright.
