Population of Blind Followers

Population of Blind Followers

Forget about the population of his blind followers, the genesis of his misguidance and this humiliation is opposing the Sunnah. Anyone who opposes the Sunnah will be misguided if he does not repent sincerely. Allāh says:

So let those beware who dissent from the Prophet’s order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment (QS. An-Noor: Verse 63.)

We said it when it started from condemnation of hijāb (khimār, jilbāb or niqāb). No one will think a Muslim will do this, let alone the head of a reputable Islamic institution. His attention was called to it and he became so arrogant fighting anyone who corrects him. He moved to other areas such as denying the return of Prophet ‘Eesa عليه السلام, denial of rajm (stoning), denial of An-naskh (abrogation), condemnation of Hadith, and defamation of Imām Al-Bukhari. Later, he started insulting the noble companions picking them one by one, such as Abu Hurayrah and Abu Mūsa Al-ash’ari رضي الله عنهم. He now moved further to hit the main transformers of Sunnah (Islām) with his attacks on Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman رضي الله عنهم, Anyone who dishonours any of the companions deserves no honour, let alone the bigwigs among them.

So, it is the promise of Allāh that anyone who opposes the Sunnah will be misled and become miserable. While we still hope for his sincere repentance, his case is a clear manifestation of the verse earlier cited above. It is a great lesson for other people who are like him to desist from opposing the Sunnah whether out of ignorance or out of hatred for people of Sunnah. Those who opposed the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم when he was alive and after his death till the Day of Judgement are the same.

So, beware!
